Job Description

Ulster BOCES is seeking a Principal of Career Pathways Programs for a full-time, 12 month position. The chosen candidate will play an integral role in providing each student with an educational experience which focuses on preparing them for a bright and successful future.

Salary commensurate with experience and training. Salary range starting at $136,200.00.

SPECIFIC DUTIES:

  1. Implements a comprehensive, outcomes-based program key to the needs of the workplace of the future such that students completing the program can demonstrate future readiness.
  2. Makes recommendations concerning the Career Pathways Programs administration and instruction.
  3. Makes recommendations for adjustment in the program to fleet changing job trends and student interest, in consultation with our High Education and Industry partners.
  4. Makes recommendations for the development of new programs consistent with the aims of the Career Pathways Program.
  5. Articulates the educational philosophy guiding the Career Pathways Education Program to the school districts, parents, and students of the participating districts.
  6. Maintains current knowledge of all rules and regulations affecting the delivery of educational programs.
  7. Supervises the collection, review, and submission of all forms and reports as requested by the District Superintendent and/or designee.
  8. Develops and manages program budget for approval by the District Superintendent, monitors student activity funds, and monitors expenditure of funds for instruction.
  9. Supervises formal assessment/counseling procedures to identify appropriate programs and intervention for students.
  10. Recruits and makes recommendations to the District Superintendent for hiring all personnel in the Career Pathways Programs.
  11. Supervises and is responsible for evaluation of certified and service personnel in the Career Pathways Programs.
  12. Coordinates the in-service orientation and training of personnel with special responsibility for staff administrative procedures and instructions.
  13. Maintains membership in, and participates in the affairs of professional societies devoted to the advancement of Career Pathways Programs.
  14. Informs the program leadership team of ongoing program developments and needs.
  15. Assumes responsibility for the safety and administration of the school plant.
  16. Assumes other duties assigned by the District Superintendent or designee.

Job Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • New York State SBL or SDA Certification
  • Knowledge of and experience in Career Pathways Programs preferred.
