Job Description

Ulster BOCES is seeking a qualified Bilingual Psychoeducational Evaluator to conduct culturally and linguistically responsive assessments for students referred for special education and related services. The ideal candidate is committed to equity, family engagement, and ensuring that evaluation results are accessible and understandable to all families through clear communication in their preferred language.
 

To be legally employed in this position, you must possess a valid NYS certification as a Bilingual School Psychologist. Fingerprinting is required. This is a non-benefit-earning position.

Rate of Pay: $142/Hour

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Conducting evaluations in the student's dominant/native language and English, as appropriate.
  • Administering, scoring, and interpreting a variety of assessment tools.
  • Preparing comprehensive evaluation reports that clearly communicate assessment results, strengths, needs, and educational implications.
  • Developing and providing a Parent Summary of Evaluation Results in the family's native language to ensure meaningful parent participation and understanding of assessment findings in accordance with NYSED requirements regarding parent communication and meaningful participation in the special education process.
  • Maintaining compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local regulations regarding evaluation practices and special education procedures.



WORK SCHEDULE:
Most evaluations are conducted on Saturdays between the hours of 9 AM – 4 PM. Optional weekday evaluations at students' home schools may also be available.

Job Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Fluency in English and the target language(s).
Strong written and verbal communication skills in both languages.
Appropriate certification, licensure, or credentials required for conducting educational evaluations.
Knowledge of special education regulations, assessment practices, and culturally responsive evaluation procedures.
